Privacy Policy

When you request an estimate, book an appointment, or contact us, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, phone number, details about your vehicle and the damage, any photos you upload, and anything you write in a message. If you sign a repair authorization, we also collect the information and signature on that form.

We need this information to respond to you and to carry out the work you ask us to do.

Like most websites, ours records technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the address of the site or advertisement you arrived from.

If you reach us from an advertisement, the link carries campaign tags, such as the campaign name. We store these tags with your request so we know which advertising brought you to us, and keep them in your browser for 30 days. Links from ChatGPT ads also carry an OpenAI click reference, which only OpenAI’s pixel uses (see “Advertising and measurement” below).

To reply to your request and provide repair services; to send you confirmation of what you submitted; to keep records we are required to keep; to protect the site from spam and abuse; and to understand which advertising works.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.

We advertise in ChatGPT and use OpenAI’s measurement pixel to see which ads lead to real enquiries. Unless you have opted out (see below), the pixel loads on every page of this website.

On each page, the pixel keeps two identifiers in your browser: a random browser ID, kept for up to one year, and, if you arrived from a ChatGPT ad, that ad’s click reference, kept for 30 days. It sends OpenAI a start-up signal with the address of the page (without anything after a “?”), these identifiers, and the technical information every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type.

When you send an estimate request, a contact message or an appointment request, the pixel tells OpenAI which of the three you sent. It does not report repair authorizations or any other form.

Please read this part carefully. OpenAI has switched on a feature called automatic advanced matching for our pixel. When you send one of those three forms, the pixel also sends OpenAI the email address and phone number you typed, and on the contact and appointment forms your first and last name, each converted inside your browser into a scrambled form called a SHA-256 hash. These hashes are sent only together with the report of a sent form.

A hash is not the same as anonymous: the same email address always produces the same hash, so it can be used to recognise you across different websites. This feature is controlled by OpenAI and cannot be switched off from our website’s code. If you would rather it did not happen, use the opt-out below, which stops the pixel from loading at all.

OpenAI uses this information to work out whether a ChatGPT ad you saw or clicked led to your request, and may also estimate this from patterns across many conversions. We receive the results as campaign totals, not as a record about you.

We never send the contents of your message, your photos, your vehicle identification number, or links to your documents to OpenAI or any other advertising platform.

We use service providers to run this website and to reach you: our website and database hosts, our email delivery provider, and a bot-protection service that checks the forms. They handle the information only to provide those services to us.

We do not sell your information for money. However, sharing identifiers with advertising platforms for measurement — including hashed contact details as described above — may count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information under some state privacy laws, including California’s. That is why the opt-out below exists.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

You can turn off advertising and measurement tools for this browser. When you do, those tools are not loaded and no conversion events are sent. Forms, email confirmations and everything else on the site keep working normally.

We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal automatically. If your browser or an extension sends it, you are already opted out here.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Residents of California and several other states have these rights by law, along with the right to opt out of the sharing described above and the right not to be treated differently for exercising them.

To make a request, email info@dndautobody.com or call (732) 753-9950. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we will respond within the time the law allows. Note that we may have to keep some records, such as repair and payment records, even after a deletion request.

We keep enquiries and repair records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations, then delete them. The campaign tags stored in your browser and the ChatGPT ad click reference expire after 30 days. The OpenAI pixel’s browser ID lasts up to one year.

Information you submit is sent over an encrypted connection and stored with access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

This website is meant for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
